My dear friend Cristina married Dan, the love of her life, in early June 2017 in a spectacular setting with a view of mercurial Portland skies from The Nines rooftop deck in downtown Portland. They were surrounded by their children, family and friends and the love was palpable. Cristina is originally from Northern Italy and has an innate sense of style that must be born from Italian soil. Her style is classic. The bride personified elegance and simplicity on her wedding day from her dress to her hair to her shoes. She wore a custom-made silk wrap from Italy. Dan has his own great sartorial sense evident by the pop of his sunrise hued bow tie and pocket square and the cut of his tuxedo. For florals, Cristina chose orchids. Orchids symbolize beauty and elegance in the language of flowers and they were a great representation of their style. For the ceremony, it was two tall, modern glass vases with a little organic rock base and then filled with Italian ruscus greenery as a nod to Cristina’s heritage, tall curly willow and white Dendrobium orchids as a backdrop of the Portland cityscape.
Cristina carried one lovely stem of Cymbidium Ayako Tanaka ‘Del Rey’ wrapped in a cream silk ribbon and Dan wore a single cymbidium boutonnière. Dan’s mother wore a corsage of roses and orchids. Reception florals were simple white centerpieces provided by The Nines. It was a beautiful ceremony filled with meaning, love and joy and I was happy to contribute in a small way with florals for their wedding day. Cheers to a lifetime of happiness Cristina and Dan!
