Modern Bonnie & Clyde Inspired Bridal Editorial
Bonnie and Clyde were outlaws in a time of the Great Depression and the myth is a romanticized version of stylish, devil may care attitude. We featured Bonnie alone in this shoot and traded in her gun for a beautiful bouquet of flowers, but made sure she still had a stylish getaway car. The vintage Bentley parked on a long, gravel road along a rustic country fence is a timeless image.
A few words from photographer Alexandra Knight ….. “Our shoot was inspired by the dichotomy of rough vs soft, rustic vs elegant and law abiding vs outlaw. Our stylist was inspired to create a vision of a modern Bonnie – of Bonnie & Clyde fame. A woman who represents diversity and elegance no matter what she encounters. One who is unafraid to take (fashion) risks, like her white HalstonHeritage jumpsuit. A jaunty, cream wool beret sewn with gardenias on the vine and pampas grass finished off the iconically modern look.
The creative team mixed modern elements with timeless details to put a contemporary twist on the much-romanticised outlaws, creating a beautifully moody and inspiring editorial…..
Chic Vintage Brides
Her horse is our Clyde, and his presence reflects the wilder elements of Bonnie’s style – like her colorful bouquet. Sepia-toned flowers with pops of jewel tones by Flori Flowers represent the theme of rustic elegance, with a twist. The palette was brought to life with hues of peach, plum, and caramel and a little bit of soft blue. The feeling the shoot was to evoke is that maybe there is a little outlaw in all of us, a restrained wild elegance.
Our stylist has a background in theater and the shoot was composed like a set complete with a custom made artisan sign emblazoned with ‘Just Hitched’, giving the illusion of being a street sign on a rustic road.“
